No

4. When was the last time you laughed until you cried?
I think in the past week, but now I forget what was so funny.

5. Was there a movie where you could not bear to see the end?
Any of those horrible romantic comedies they show on the airplanes. I'm on a plane right now actually with wifi. I'm sure they are about to start a horrible movie.

6. What character would you have liked to have played?
In the horrible movie?

7. "Law & Order", "Special Victim Unit" or "Criminal Intent"?
I've never seen either one. I don't go much for tv drama series.

8. Who do you currently have a crush on?

Zoltan Bathory of Five Finger Death Punch

1. Which book are you currently reading?
Carlos Castaneda the whole series... probably the 15th times...

2. Do you smoke?
That's a negative

3. When was the last time you got angry?
Yeah I have a theory about that - If I'm always angry then I can't "get angry" since I was angry to begin with - it's like self immunization...

4. When was the last time you laughed until you cried?
My band is pretty much comedy central on wheels... they are always up to something retarded - so it happens on the daily bases. Just the other day we were reading the Video treatments various directors submitted for our new single - and one of them started with "The lead singer gets hit with a shovel and falls in an open grave" - all of us jumped up - f**k yeah! this is the one!!! haha... we didn't even read the rest of it... and actually that's the video that got made...

5. Was there a movie where you could not bear to see the end?
It's pretty common that I walk out of movie theaters or stop a DVDs half way through... I'm generally really busy so if a movie gets stupid I can't stand the idea that I'm wasting my time on somebody's brainfart... every minute that passed is gone you never get it back...

6. What character would you have liked to have played?
Optimus Prime, Marcus Aurelius Maximus, Mad Max rolled into one "Mad Maximus Prime" - anything with pedal to the friggin metal works for me...

7. "Law & Order", "Special Victim Unit" or "Criminal Intent"?
Law & Order

8. Who do you currently have a crush on?
My new BC Rich signature guitar... She's hot! She has a nice curvy exotic body, always wears a G-String, she doesn't fret when I try all kind of positions, she sings when I touch her, and I can shut her up with a flick of my finger, oh and she doesn't give me shit for playing other guitars ... she's really a double whammy....

9. What's the best moment of your day?
Of course when the band hits stage there's no 'high' like that - it's like a swat team in action... a big nasty warmachine laying down fire and launching rockets...

10. What song of yours do you think is your best?
Unfaaaaair... It's like picking which one is your favorite kid... I think Dying Breed, Hard To See, Salvation are pretty solid tracks...

Chris Freeman of Pansy Division

1. Which book are you currently reading?
I usually have two or three books that I read at the same time to keep from getting bored and not finishing them. At the moment I'm reading three: "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins; "Grunge is Dead" by Greg Prato (I'm from Seattle) and "The Inscrutable Mrs. Winchester and Her Mysterious Mansion" by Lisa Selby. I've always been fascinated by her story.

2. Do you smoke?
No cigarettes, but occasionally pot. I did smoke from the ages of 16 - 29, quit, then started again at 35 when Luis joined Pansy Division, then quit once more (for good this time) on New Year's Eve 2002/2003 at age 41. About 20 years total. Too long. I'll never smoke again.

3. When was the last time you got angry?
I tend to keep my anger in check, but it got away from me last December ('08) when I was taking care of my dad for a month. After a hospital stay, I had to move him and his current wife into a nursing home. They're 87 and 94. My dad's a Fox News loving, rascist homophobe with survivor's guilt (from being in the Navy as a CPO during WWII in '44), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and mountains of self-loathing. He was picking a verbal fight with me and we got into it, yelling and carrying on. He hobbled down the hallway and slammed the door after I blew a raspberry at him (I thought it would make him laugh and diffuse the issue). I gave him 10 minutes to cool down then went and apologized, even though he started it. What the hell, he's 87. He's never gonna change.

4. When was the last time you laughed until you cried?
It was on our last tour in June, we played a show in Washington, DC. I rip up a Bible at the end of our show and I happened to hit someone in the face with a piece of it when I tossed it out this time. After the song was over, I don't know where this came from, but I said, "Did I hit you? Oh my god, I'm so sorry, but you know, the Lord works in mysterious ways!" I looked over at Jon who was laughing hysterically, and I started to have one of those laughing fits that threatens to not let up, tears streaming down my face, doubled-over. Just one of those moments that come from out of nowhere. Another was when Ronnie Barnett from the Muffs at a show recently told me that a friend of his works for KISS and that Paul Stanley is completely bald. That got me going.

5. Was there a movie where you could not bear to see the end?
You mean because I hated it so much and wanted to get out of there, or because I loved it so much I never wanted it to end? Hated it: "The Royal Tenenbaums;" Loved it: "The Wizard of Oz"

6. What character would you have liked to have played?
I think I'd be a really good Frank'n'Furter from Rocky Horror Picture Show.

7. "Law & Order", "Special Victim Unit" or "Criminal Intent"?
I know nothing about any of these shows since I rarely watch any television. I think I watched part of an episode of "Law & Order" once, so I'll say that one.

8. Who do you currently have a crush on?
Famous: Daniel Craig - what a cutie! I can watch "Casino Royale" over and over. He's steaming hot. Not famous: my friend Don Speziale, but he's got a great boyfriend/partner (10 years together) so that won't happen. I'd love to find someone just like him.

9. What's the best moment of your day?
Coming home from work after 6PM and having a 1/2 hour swim and a jacuzzi. I LOVE to swim.

10. What song of yours do you think is your best?
Probably "You're Gonna Need Your Friends." I think that one was the most natural. It just came out of my head fully realized. Most of my songs I get snippets of, then I need to figure out the rest. This one was effortless. My second favorite would be "I'm Gonna Be a Slut." We were on the floor laughing when we were working on the lyrics to that song, thinking about what people would think when they heard it. Still gets a rise out of everyone when we play it.

In 1991, Chris Freeman discovered an ad in the SF Weekly that stopped him in his tracks. The ad was looking for “gay musicians into the Ramones, Buzzcocks and early Beatles”. Through the ad he met Jon Ginoli, who gave him a demo tape of a new project called Pansy Division and by November he joined. The rest is history.

He writes songs for the same reasons he enjoys a good conversation: it's just natural. His songs come out of a knock-about life, pressed by the urge to overcome insecurities, to probe questions, to revisit dreams and visions.

Steve Piccolo is from New York, but he also lives and works in Switzerland and Italy. He studied at Bard College and New York University, and has been active as a musician, composer, performer and artist since 1975. He used to be a musician whose “hobby” was field recordings and sound art. Now he's practically a sound artist and recordist whose “hobby” is music, a situation that probably reflects industrial and market dynamics more than any real change in his interests and activities. He was one of the founding members of the Lounge Lizards in New York in the late 1970s-early 1980s. He has done soundtracks for many videos by international artists, teaches "sound design" in art academies, curates the "sound of art" pages for Undo.net and writes a monthly column in the Italian magazine "InSound".

1. Which book are you currently reading?
Oh, I have a bad or good habit of reading lots of books at once. Currently "Ghost Wars" about the CIA in Afghanistan from the 1980s until 9/11, "Republic of Suffering" about death and dying during the U.S.A. Civil War and embarrassingly a redevotion to Mishimia with "Spring Snow".

3. When was the last time you got angry?

Since their foundation in 1998, múm have forged a sublimely bright, warm and rich take on electronica, imprinting it with their own unique sound and character. What sets the band apart from so many of their peers is both their strong, playfully haunted melodies, and sorcerous integration of analogue and digital technologies. Playing an assortment of instruments and percussion alongside some crisply programmed electronic washes, beats, dingdongs and beep-beeps as well as found sounds and field recordings, the band’s talent, inventiveness and nose for musical exploration is immediately audible.

When I get all my work done and I am able to sit and have a drink with friends (which rarely happens!!!)

10. What drawing of yours do you think is your best?
I dont think I've created my best yet!!!!!!

Los Angeles-born artist Elizabeth McGrath has always had an eye for the strange beauty in the grotesqueries of life; this appreciation is nowhere more evident than in her work. Inspired by the relationship between the natural world and the detritus of consumer culture, she brings forth a new cavalcade of creatures from the darker corners of the streets, the city, the imagination. It is this melancholy interaction between man-made status symbols and suffering specimens of nature that make up her intricate body of work.
Along with her Husband, Morgan Slade, plays in the band Miss Derringer.
